Random Thought: I think diet (both diet as in “The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats” and Diet as in “South Beach Diet”) needs to be added to politics and religion as subjects not discussed in polite conversation. I’m convinced some of the most uncivil, bitter and spiteful “conversations” that take place online are about subjects like carbohydrate intake. Seriously. It’s the kind of stuff that would make a highly active member of Stormfront go “Geez, settle down starchies and carbo-phobes and take a chill-pill. Why all the hate? We can work though this together.”
